The MALD is a low-cost, air-launched programmable aircraft that weighs less than 300 pounds and has a range of about 575 miles. The unmanned craft protects aircraft by duplicating the combat flight profiles and signatures of U.S. and allied aircraft.
Raytheon is currently in low-rate initial production of the MALD under a $34 million contract awarded by the U.S. Air Force in July.
